Common Porsche Issues We Fix
Porsches are precision-built, but certain platforms develop predictable issues as they age. Here’s what we see most often on the cars that come through our shop.
-
1
IMS Bearing & RMS Leaks (M96 / M97 engines)
The intermediate shaft bearing and rear main seal are well-known weak points on 1997–2008 Boxster, Cayman, and 911 — we inspect, address, and upgrade with proven solutions.
-
2
Cayenne & Panamera Air Suspension
Air struts, compressors, and valve blocks fail with age on Cayenne and Panamera — restoring proper ride height and damping without paying dealer prices.
-
3
Coolant Pipes & Water Pump Issues
Plastic coolant pipes on V8 Cayennes and Panameras, plus water pumps across the lineup, are common failure points we proactively address before overheating damage.
-
4
PDK & Tiptronic Service Neglect
Skipping PDK fluid service on the 7-speed dual-clutch (or Tiptronic on older cars) leads to harsh shifts and expensive repairs — proper interval service keeps these gearboxes smooth.

Common Questions
Common questions we hear from Porsche owners.
Will independent service void my Porsche warranty?
No. The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects your right to use an independent shop without voiding your factory warranty, as long as the work is done to manufacturer specifications using approved parts and fluids. We follow Porsche specifications and document every service, so your warranty coverage stays intact.
Do you use OEM Porsche parts?
Yes. We use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and OE-quality parts to maintain the build quality your Porsche was designed for. For some repairs we'll offer upgraded alternatives — such as performance brakes or longer-life components — but the default is always OEM unless you ask otherwise.
How do I schedule an appointment?
